For the 34th Sin release we are excited to present the music of Bussa on the Revolt EP.
As techno drowns under a glut of 'dark' and serious techno, it's guts filled to bursting with doomy drones, at Singularity we have decided to step away from what was once our domain and do something a little different. We are taking a holiday from the pit and the abyss The music presented here is harking back to old skool house and detroit techno, with a lot of depth and soul. Funky basslines, solid hip wiggling beats, dreamy chord pads and stabs, stripped back uplifting melodies, no cheese just genuine feel good vibrations.
Bussa perfectly captures the spirit and sound of the very roots of early techno, this is hi-tech soul music sitting between chicago house vibes and melodic detroit, the heart and soul of this, we think, is an antithesis to all the forced 'darkness' on the dancefloor.
Bussa is Jordan Louis, his production name taken from a slave in colonial era Barbados who started a revolt that had wide reaching effect on the slave trade.
A house and techno producer from Antwerp Belgium. Bussa's aims are to make dance music with a more spiritual vibe, promoting one-ness and not the apolitical nihilism we see pouring in to dance music.
There is some very subtle political commentary going on here but we want to leave what is being said to the music and the artwork.
In an increasingly divisive world, we are happy to present something that speaks of togetherness and positivity through rebellion!!!
