Singularity Recordings relaunches after a long hiatus to find a new direction and strategy. The label returns with a focus on allowing the artists more room to experiment, and so we will be mostly focused on releasing artist albums. The music will be mostly centred around experimental techno and electronic music, but there will be deviations for unique music that fits the label philosophy of uniquity, quality and singular vision. We relaunch with album from the monolithic force that is Derlich. A punishing industrial album made during a time when the artists partner was dealing with cancer. Derlich found a release for his emotional frustrations through music. In the artists own words. 'This whole debut album was made during the time my wife was sick and music became a output to describe how I felt that moment, it's something that was created without any lines, without any ideas or any other background. It's a kind of sound discovery and improvisation. The moment I started to make the album, I closed my eyes and looked inside my soul, the only satisfaction I could feel was darkness. It was so dark that I couldn't find a doorway escape. Those moments were so pure and emotional they allowed me to make every track a exploration of dark distorted emotional sound'. Powerful stuff. The tracks with Moor Mother are where I hoped Tricky would end up. There are similarities but there's an awesome heft in this album that takes the whole thing to somewhere kind of familiar but so different. The second half feels like I just fell off a cliff edge into the swirling void. Well done folks a great album jazzberto
