The 28th Singularity Recordings transmission features Force returning to the label after a 5 year hiatus!! This time he is on his own. The music of Force is incredibly intricate, full of funk and subtle detail, abstract yet with enough repetition to drive the floor. The title track rumbles and lurches around a thick syrupy low end and, as the track progresses, various layers of glitched out percussion slip in and out pushing and pulling the groove in different directions. The feeling is of some ominous factory dirge. The synth coming in after the break is like a buzzsaw to the brain, cutting it's way into your mind until you fully submit to the rhythm. Collectiv1 takes a classic electro backing and throws it down into a pit of broken machine parts. A floor shaking thump underpins layers of percussion that slide through the track like liquid metal. This is a fine example of sex machine funk. Defek is the most upbeat track on the EP. The groove has quite a bounce to it as it rolls along. Subtle percussion bubbles up and through the track enhancing the organic machine feel that is the signature of force tracks. The various groove changes should be a dream for a good DJ to cut and chop with. Instinct takes a similar path to Collectiv1, there is an electro feel, the percolating percussion is all there, but the overall feeling is a little more stark, the feeling is like walking through some aircraft graveyard in the desert. Cold, austere machine funk. Your Time Is Up is a dark driving four to the floor piece. There's a great snare and clap interplay that captures an almost garage feel, but the overall tone is still very industrial. Factory funk for the disconnected generation.
